ARTISTIC THERAPY WITH MARGARET-MARY FARR

Margaret-Mary is an Anthroposophical Artistic Therapist (different from mainstream Artistic Therapy.) It's based on the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and works with painting, drawing and clay modelling. Margaret-Mary trained in Holland for 4.5 years at de Wervel Academy for Artistic Therapy and Fine Arts. Since returning to New Zealand in 1986 she has been working as an Artistic Therapist, Art tutor and Artist. People who come for Artistic Therapy are referred by doctors, councillors, friends or family and are taken through a guided journey using the art form to identify themselves with the artistic process that takes place. For those with depression, recovering from loss and trauma or struggling to overcome chronic physical conditions, Art is refreshing and is able to bring movement into fixed states of mind and being. Artistic Therapy helps to gain self-awareness, unlock creativity, make decisions, improve relationships etc. It gives a chance to reflect, step back and see the bigger picture. It offers a non-verbal way of communicating and can be lots of fun! Over a period of time, Artistic Therapy works like a physical exercise on the mind, body and spirit. It helps expand the consciousness which then changes the way one relates to life's joys and tribulations.

Artistic Therapist Margaret-Mary Farr is offering weekly Artistic Therapy sessions, privately or in a group at The Blue Cottage in Waipukurau on Mondays or at Weleda in Havelock North on Tuesday afternoons.
